David Bowie

I've done a lot of pieces on David Bowie. I don't know why. This agent for this and this agent for that, one European manager and one American agency, he had people all over... Met him once at L'Ermitage, the hotel in Beverly Hills. I went over there to get photos of him for a trade ad. He seemed like a nice guy. He had a genuine smile and he looked straight into my eyes. He was polite and appreciative of all efforts done on his behalf. I liked him... so I drew a sketch of him - as opposed to using a photo or a photographic technique. Everyone in town liked the drawings I did, so I reserved them for the people I liked.
