Bobby Darin

For me he is the greatest standup performer I have ever seen. His press agent, Dave, was a pal and a real talent. The scene is Bobby's first live appearance, at a club called the Moulin Rouge in LA. While doing the piece, I hear a tap on my studio window at 3am. I am on the second floor of an office building in Beverly Hills. There are Dave and Bobby on the fire escape peering in. Bobby says, "How does it look?" I have to move my drawing board so he could move in off the fire escape. They came in for a few minutes and then I let them out through the front door.
